LA-based interior designer Kelly Wearstler has a new line-up of Proper hotels that are as sleek and glamorous as the designer herself. I just stayed at the San Francisco location where Wearstler has perfected the fine art of urban-chic decor in a historic flatiron building (replete with a guest-list-only rooftop bar). Perched in a gritty area known as the Tenderloin, these posh quarters have essentially helped elevate a downtown neighborhood into a hip destination - proper etiquette indeed.
